Accept you tried some other headset (or speakers) to determine if its the computer and not the headset? Try hooking up the headset to some other figurer and see if it works the correct manner.

I'm bold that you bought this computer (and didn't build it). It could be the audio device drivers, or yous might have your audio plugin (where you connect the headset to) is going bad. What is the make and model of calculator? I can assistance you pinpoint which device drivers go with your estimator, so we tin supplant them earlier assuming the worst.

Y'all can usually find the Make and Model info on a sticker somewhere on the example. Might be on the same sticker that has your Windows information.

I had this result before. If you go to your sounds driver settings, at that place si sometimes a karaoke way, or a setting that removes oral communication. Switch information technology off and it should piece of work!!

So at that place still is a problem??? Check the equalizer maybe and reset it to default if you have one.

The most obvious mode of fixing the problem is to completely uninstall the sound driver then reinstall them with the latest driver from your mobo manufacturer. Employ the default setup with yous headphones plugged in, you can fine tune your settings later after y'all're satisfied they're working properly.

Ok.. it seems that all of y'all are software guys eh?.. I in one case had a similar trouble that merely background voices were coming. I believe its a hardware result. I was using nokia _phone_ headset in pc because my skullcandys were nibbled by my pet rabbit.
You can practise what I did-
Play a song. Put on the earphones, then accommodate the pin of the earphone by taking it out a fleck, yous will found a particular spot, only bit above the base of pin, where the sound starts coming only right...though your microphones volition stop working. Mine was a consequence of incompatibility just the symptoms are very similar.:-D

*If Windows viii.0 then it's correct-click on speaker icon (taskbar; near clock)
Click on 'playback devices',
Click in one case on your speakers icon, the 'properties' box volition become available, click on it.
Click on the third tab across, 'Enhancements' and then click the selection,
'Disable all enhancements'. Ok all dialogues to articulate them.
-------------------------------
* If the headphone socket has become damaged in some way, (commonly the springy contacts lose pressure level on the plug pins,) then information technology'southward possible to get audio in headphones past using a USB-to-3.5mm sound adapter. Roughly £3 / $5.
-------------------------------
* Note that Nokia headphone jacks are different to normal headphone connections, in that they have 4 sections to the plug, not three. And so that is why the plug needs to be slightly 'out' from 'plugged in' position.
